For as long as moving pictures have existed, people have been infatuated with seeing violence and death on film. In 1903, Thomas Edison filmed the execution of "Topsy", the Coney Island circus elephant who was responsible for the deaths of 3 men. While Edison's intentions may not have been to create the first "elephant snuff film", the fact that he chose to even film the death of a living thing cannot be ignored. He later released that film under the title "ELECTROCUTING AN ELEPHANT".
I'm a huge Horror fan and there are soooo many things that make them great. A well written story and respectable acting will ALWAYS be the key to a good movie. But, violence and death are to Horror movies, what hugs and kisses are to romantic comedies. And while the intensity of the violence and death may range from "mildly implied" to "extremely fucking brutal", it's violence non the less...and Horror cannot exist without it!
This site is definitely not for ALL Horror fans. Some don't get as excited about the display of violence as others...this site is for the ones that DO!!
So check out the list of clips on the right, and watch some of the most violent, gory or just plain fucked up scenes that movies and music videos have to offer.
